Accessibility
Participants didn't choose Stroop. Their researcher did. So the pages they see are built for people who read differently, move differently and use other tools.
Last updated 17 October 2026.
What we've done
- Contrast at AAA on participant pages. Body text is 17.8:1 and secondary text 9.2:1, against a 7:1 target. When a study wears an agency's brand colours, Stroop adjusts link colours to keep the contrast.
- Keyboard paths. Every participant step works by keyboard alone, with a visible focus ring and focus that follows reading order.
- Reduced motion. Participant pages barely move to begin with: a progress bar and a short fade between steps. With reduced motion set, even the fade goes. Nothing flashes.
- Large type. Participant pages set body text at 18 px on a 28 px line and titles at 28 px. Nothing is smaller than 16 px.
- Reflow. Pages work at 320 px wide and with text at 200%.
We check these in our own testing. Nobody outside the company has audited them yet.
Known limits
- Timed methods depend on speed and sight. An IAT, a five-second test or a reaction-time task isn't meaningful with a screen reader. In implicit tasks participants can skip with a reason, without penalty; that option is on unless the researcher turns it off.
- Figma and code prototypes are as accessible as their designers made them. Stroop can't fix a prototype's own markup.
- Moderated sessions need a camera or microphone for most research.
- There's no published conformance report yet. The researcher app has had less attention than the participant pages.
- This marketing site doesn't follow a dark mode setting.
Tell us what doesn't work
Email [email protected] with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you use. If you were taking part in a study, the participant page explains how to stop or withdraw in the meantime.
Stroop is the all-in-one research and testing platform. Run usability tests, prototypes, surveys, tree tests, diaries and IATs in one study, and get results back transcribed, scored and charted, with every finding linked to the session it came from.
